ALKEMI recycled solid surface material is certified by Scientific Certification Systems (SCS), a leading organization in the evaluation of sustainable materials. This certification confirms that ALKEMI contains 35% post-industrial scrap by weight. (Certification labs only use weight as the measurement for content). By volume, ALKEMI contains 60% post-industrial scrap.

As stated on the SCS website, “SCS is a leading third-party provider of certification, auditing and testing services, and standards, founded in 1984, who's mission is to recognize the highest levels of performance in food safety and quality, environmental protection and social responsibility in the private and public sectors, and to stimulate continuous improvement in sustainable development.”
